A Director's Duty

A Directors Duty - based on what a "reasonable person" would do.

In Australia Section 180(1) Corporations Act - Care and Diligence states that directors must exercise their powers and discharge their duties with the degree of care and diligence that a reasonable person would exercise if they were a director themselves of a corporation in the corporations circumstances and they occupied the office held by and had the same responsibilities as the director. So what is a "reasonable person" then? We have discussed this before but it is worth discussing again.

We were pleased to be advised this week that we are a finalist in the Australian Insurance Industry Awards in the category of Most Outstanding Authorised Representative Business for 2019.

Our company very much appreciates the accolade and just being nominated is prestigious to us. The awards ceremony is in August and we will see how we go, but being in the Top 4 is a credit to our team who have worked tremendously hard in the last eight years.
